Transport for London: Development Framework
Project Description
TfL owns 5,700 acres of London property and is the capital’s biggest landowner.
RealWorth were commissioned to guide developers bidding for and appointed to projects on how to optimise, capture and evaluate social value through the design and construction processes.
Our Role
RealWorth authored the Social Value element of the Framework. This featured several pro-social precedents to illustrate the potential to integrate social value into development.
The framework was piloted on Morden Town Centre. RealWorth identified the existing social infrastructure and conducted a socio-economic review to fully understand the needs and opportunities of the area.
As a follow-up to the Framework, we were commissioned to advise how to optimise the creation of lasting social value throughout TfL’s property portfolio. RealWorth devised a series of approaches and measures, including:
Effective community engagement,
Support to TfL staff to help tenants understand and generate positive impact; and
Tenant incentivisation and reward schemes
